Intro to coding with CodeMonkey

Children dive into programming by solving interactive puzzles that require writing simple code. They guide characters through challenges using loops and sequences, unlocking the basics of computational thinking. This short and engaging session makes coding approachable, helping young learners connect fun with foundational programming skills.

LEGO Spark Robotics: Football

Children design and program robots to play football, creating machines that can move, kick, and defend. Using sensors and precise coding, they’ll participate in mini-matches, blending creativity with practical robotics skills. It’s a thrilling way to experience technology in motion.

Slime Making

A messy, fun-filled activity where children create their own unique slime. They’ll experiment with colours, textures, and materials, discovering how combinations work through hands-on mixing. The session blends creativity with basic science, leaving each child with a personalised, squishy creation to take home.

Tuesday, 25.02

3D modeling in MagicaVoxel

Children explore digital creativity by crafting 3D models using MagicaVoxel, a beginner-friendly tool. They learn to shape, scale, and colour their designs, turning simple blocks into stunning creations. This hands-on experience bridges imagination and technology, encouraging children to think like designers while having fun.

LEGO Spark Robotics: Maze Runner

Children build and program LEGO robots to navigate a tricky maze, using sensors and commands to guide them through twists and turns. This challenge introduces concepts like loops and conditionals, offering an exciting way to explore the basics of robotics and hands-on problem-solving.

LEGO Pétanque

Inspired by pétanque, this activity has children build and launch LEGO creations towards the table’s edge. Each team strategises to land their models closest while avoiding falls or collisions. This playful competition combines engineering with precision and excitement.

Wednesday, 26.02

2D Games with Construct3

An accessible introduction to game design, where children create their own 2D games with Construct3’s drag-and-drop interface. They’ll design characters, build levels, and add interactive features. By the end, they’ll have a completed game, gaining insight into the building blocks of programming.

Filmmaking Studio

An engaging introduction to filmmaking, where participants create their own short films using accessible editing tools. They’ll remove backgrounds, add smooth transitions, and enhance their stories with text and special effects. By the end, they’ll have a completed video, gaining insight into the creative and technical aspects of video production.

RC Cars Race

Children take control of RC cars in a high-energy activity, starting with designing and building an obstacle course. Once complete, the race is on! They’ll navigate their creations through twists and challenges in a thrilling blend of engineering and competition.

Thursday, 27.02

Image Creation with Leonardo AI

Children explore digital art by using Leonardo AI to generate personalised images. From abstract designs to detailed scenes, they’ll transform ideas into stunning visuals, discovering how AI can enhance creativity. Each child leaves with their own digital artwork to share.

Inspired by pétanque, this activity has children build and launch LEGO creations towards the table’s edge. Each team strategises to land their models closest while avoiding falls or collisions. This playful competition combines engineering with precision and excitement.

Friday, 28.02

Creative Coding with JS P5

An artistic introduction to JavaScript, where children use P5 to create interactive visuals and animations. They’ll explore mathematical functions and connect them to the art movements of Suprematism and Cubism, blending coding with cultural expression.

3D Games with Roblox Studio

Children step into the world of 3D game design with Roblox Studio. They’ll craft detailed environments, script gameplay elements with Lua, and test their creations. This session offers a hands-on transition from playing games to designing their own immersive experiences.

Emoji Hunt

A lively scavenger hunt where children search for objects matching emoji clues. Equipped with cameras, they capture their finds in creative and styled photographs. This activity encourages exploration and creativity, making it a playful way to conclude the day.
