Description

Maker camp offers children ages 7 to 12 a structured introduction to creative coding and practical engineering through a week of hands on projects. Participants begin by working with the BBC micro:bit, learning how light, buttons, motion and timing can be combined to create interactive games and playful challenges. Projects are designed to be tangible and intuitive, with clear cause and effect and visible results at every stage.

As confidence grows, micro:bit is used for more advanced applications including sensor driven games and interaction with Scratch. The programme then shifts toward physical making, where participants assemble DIY RC cars using simple materials and learn how wireless radio control works in practice. The camp concludes with applied challenges such as obstacle courses, football style games and Robosumo, bringing together logic, creativity and teamwork in an engaging and rewarding way.
