Description

Space Camp is a science and technology programme where children explore space through hands on engineering, coding and creative problem solving. The programme is inspired by real space exploration and invites children to think like explorers, engineers and scientists while working on practical projects connected to space, motion and discovery. Throughout the camp, children design and build and program a Mars rover, Canadarm and assemble a space colony. Coding is introduced as a tool to control behaviour, automate actions and bring systems to life, helping children understand how software and hardware work together. Learning is driven by experimentation and learning from failures. Children test ideas, observe outcomes and refine their designs through iterative challenges. Concepts such as gravity, distance, coordination and system thinking emerge naturally through hands on activities rather than formal theory. Space Camp is suitable for both beginners and children with prior experience in technology. Activities are structured to support different levels, allowing each participant to progress at their own pace while engaging deeply with the theme of space exploration. The programme builds a strong foundation in technological thinking while inspiring curiosity about the universe and our place within it.
